The route record of 7:27 was set by Piotr Łobodziński, the towerrunning world champion. The prize was not only the satisfaction of defeating the tallest building in the European Union, but also the opportunity to see the extraordinary views from the top of the Warsaw skyscraper, which covers the panorama of the city and its surroundings.
An opportunity for everyone who wants to repeat last year's feat, beat their record or take up the challenge for the first time will be the second edition of Varso Tower Run, which will take place on September 16 this year. Registration will start on June 5 at noon, and detailed information and the application form will be available at: www.wbiegnijnavarso.pl.
Varso towerThis time the run also supports charity
Just like last year, we decided to support the Polish Humanitarian Action with a donation for people who suffered from the war in Ukraine. We will donate 40,000 PLN for this purpose,
said Katarzyna Najdzik, President of the HB Reavis Polska Foundation.
Measuring 310 meters with its spire, the Varso Tower dominated the ranking of the tallest buildings in the European Union in terms of architectural height. The record-breaking skyscraper will once again become a sport arena and a demanding challenge even for the best specialists in this young sport. The results of the competition will be included in the Towerrunning Tour 2023 classification organized by the Towerrunning World Association. Similar runs are held in famous skyscrapers, such as Empire State Building, Taipei 101 or the Eiffel Tower.
Varso Tower is part of a mixed-use place developed by HB Reavis, which includes offices, a hotel, an innovation centre and retail with restaurants, cafes, shops, a fitness club and a medical centre. The entire investment has changed the once neglected area into an attractive landmark of the city, and greenery is an important part of it. Trees not only surround the buildings, but they have also been planted on the terraces and in the spacious lobby, which is decorated with a hand-made ceramic mosaic.
The sponsors of the event organized by HB Reavis Polska Foundation include: the law firm CMS, the medical operator PZU Zdrowie, NYX Hotel Warsaw and CIC Warsaw.
