Foster + Partners to open a new studio in Poland
HB Reavis, an international workspace provider, has signed a lease agreement with Foster + Partners. The renowned architecture practice will open a new office in Warsaw located in the tallest building in the European Union. The practice’s Polish studio will occupy 730 sqm. on the 44th floor of Varso Tower offering unparalleled views of the city’s skyline.
Foster + Partners is a global studio for sustainable architecture, urbanism, engineering and design, founded by Norman Foster in 1967. With offices across the world the practice portfolio includes landmarks such as Apple Park in Cupertino, Bloomberg's European HQ in London, Commerzbank Headquarters in Frankfurt, as well as New York City’s skyscrapers 50 Hudson Yards and 270 Park Avenue, to name a few.
Having worked in Central Europe for over thirty-five years,
and in Warsaw for over twenty-five years, setting up an office here is a natural next step for the practice. This will be our largest European office outside of the UK and the decision to create a permanent home in the Varso Tower – that we designed – demonstrates our belief in the strength and importance of Poland within Europe. It also shows our commitment to Warsaw as a world-class regional base to operate from.
- said Grant Brooker, Head of Studio, Foster + Partners
Warsaw is a thriving city with a bright future,
which we are excited to be a part of. We are very much looking forward to working from Varso Tower, showcasing our design ethos to visiting clients.
- added Krzysztof Gornicki, Senior Partner, Foster + Partners
In addition to Varso Tower – which the practice will move into by end of year – other projects by Foster + Partners in Poland include the Metropolitan office development at the historical Piłsudski Square in Warsaw. The practice is currently working on the design of Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK), a major new transport interchange between Warsaw and Łódź that brings together air, rail and road travel.
The opening of Foster + Partners office in Poland certainly strengthens its growing presence in Central Europe.
The practice, whose work is underpinned by a sustainable approach to design, is well-known for impressive feats of architecture and engineering such as Varso Tower. I am proud that our development will showcase the Foster + Partners design expertise and provide a firsthand experience for local clients and employees,
- commented Natalia Kasperska, Senior Leasing Manager at HB Reavis Poland.
