Cycling World Record at Varso Tower
On October 4, 2024, at Varso Tower in Warsaw, Krystian Herba, a multiple Guinness World Record holder, took on yet another challenge – breaking the world record for the number of stairs climbed by bike.
Krystian Herba has many cycling challenges under his belt. He has conquered notable skyscrapers, including the Willis (Sears) Tower in Chicago, SWFC in Shanghai, Taipei 101 in Taiwan, and Eureka Tower in Melbourne. Altogether, he has scaled 18 buildings across 13 countries on 4 continents—more than anyone in the world. He is a multiple Guinness World Record holder, and his records (in the number of stairs climbed by bike and the number of stairs climbed in 1 minute) have remained unbeaten for years.
On October 4, Krystian broke the world record by climbing Warsaw’s Varso Tower—the tallest building in the European Union (310 m)—three times, for a total of 4,090 stairs in 2 hours and 10 minutes. The previous record was 3,581 steps, which was also set by Krystian in 2019 in Berlin.
Varso TowerI am very happy that, for the first time in my cycling career,
I broke the record in Poland. It has been 15 years since I conquered my first building, which was the Palace of Culture, and during this time I have completed many challenges around the world, but I had yet to set a record in Poland. I am glad to have achieved this one here. I hope that my feat will inspire others to pursue their passions, take on challenges, and follow their own paths,
