Run to the top of Varso Tower and discover the breathtaking view

August 25, 2022

Varso Tower Run, the race up the stairs to the roof of one of Warsaw’s new landmarks, is held on 8 October. Competitors will have to climb nearly 1,400 stairs leading up to the 53rd floor, with the finishing line at 230 metres above the ground, twice as high as the viewing platform at the Palace of Culture and Science.

This is a real treat for runners and sports enthusiasts who will come and visit the new tallest skyscraper in Poland for the first time. The participants of Varso Tower Run will have an opportunity to enjoy the stunning panorama of the city from its observation decks even before they open to tourists. While the difficulty level of tower runs is always high, the organisers are hoping to encourage participation with a noble cause.

Based on the number of registered participants, the building developer and property manager HB Reavis will donate a specific amount to aid actions carried out by the Polish Humanitarian Action for people affected by the war in Ukraine. At 250 entries, the organisation will receive PLN 10,000, and if all 500 spots are filled, the charitable donation will swell to PLN 20,000.

Standing at 310 metres tall including the spire, Varso Tower has already topped the list of the tallest buildings in the European Union by architectural height. The record-breaking high-rise will now see runners vie for medals, posing a formidable challenge even for the leading experts in this new sport. Their results will be counted in the Towerrunning Tour 2022 ranking maintained by the Towerrunning World Association for stair races in famous skyscrapers, including the Empire State Building, Taipei 101 and the Eiffel Tower.

The first 250 starter packs will be available at PLN 60. Each participant will receive a range of goodies, including a commemorative T-shirt, a medal, a bottle of water at the finishing line as well as a race bib with a timing chip. Registration for the race opened on 22 August at www.wbiegnijnavarso.pl.

Varso Tower is part of a mixed-use development by HB Reavis that includes offices, a hotel, an innovation hub and a retail offer including restaurants, a fitness club, a health centre and more. The investment transformed the once-neglected area into an attractive corner of the city, with greenery being an important part. Several dozen trees were planted in front of the building, on the top and in the spacious lobby decorated with a handmade mosaic. Organised by HB Reavis, the event is sponsored by CMS, a law firm that is moving to its new office at Varso Tower in the upcoming months. Partners of the event also include Red Bull, NYX Hotel Warsaw and CIC Warsaw.
