HB Reavis completes its record breaking Varso Tower
International workspace provider HB Reavis has completed Varso Tower. The firm's flagship Warsaw development has transformed a brownfield site into one of the city’s urban landmarks.
The first tenants will soon move into the Foster + Partners-designed building. Now the tallest architectural structure in the EU (310m to the tip of its spire), it offers 70,000 sqm of ESG-centric workspace.
The record-breaking address next to the Warsaw Central Railway Station reached ground level in early 2019, before topping out at its 230m roof height in late 2020.
With the addition of the spire in February 2021, apart from rising above the Palace of Culture and Science, it became the EU’s tallest building by architectural height – and also boasts Warsaw’s highest garden, after sixteen trees were planted 206m above ground in mid-2021. A key part of the project is its greenery – another dozen trees decorate the spacious, mosaic-lined lobby and pepper the surrounds.
Varso Tower’s timeless slender design is emphasised by the terrace-forming steps near its summit, while the façade's vertical divide brings lightness and elegance to its character.
Its quality was recognised by independent BREEAM and WELL auditors, who certified the building as Outstanding and Gold respectively.
With the office floors currently undergoing interior fit-out works, the first tenants are set to move in this September. Ultimately, the building’s user list will include such firms as cloud specialists Box, and international law firms CMS and Greenberg Traurig.
Varso Tower is the final showpiece of HB Reavis' award-winning Varso Place, a mixed-use development offering offices, a hotel, an innovation hub and retail spaces.
No longer a classic bricks and mortar developer, workspace provider HB Reavis is changing its business approach by holding onto and managing its flagship properties.
