Underpass Connecting Central Station and Varso Tower Now Open
On Monday, September 30, an underground passage linking the northern gallery of Warsaw’s Central Station with Varso Tower—the tallest building in Poland and the European Union—was officially opened. This marks the first phase of an investment project aimed at enhancing pedestrian access between key central points in Warsaw. The project is a collaboration between Polish State Railways and HB Reavis Investments Poland.
The new connection represents a significant step toward integrating Warsaw's business district with its main transportation hub. The investment improves access to Varso Place, facilitating transit not only for office workers but also for residents and tourists using public transport. With the new passage, pedestrians gain a quicker, more convenient link between Varso Tower, railway platforms, and the bus and tram stops at Rondo Czterdziestolatka.
Varso TOwerWe are pleased that as of today, Warsaw residents, our tenants, and tourists
can move freely and quickly from Central Station toward Aleja Jana Pawła II. This is a vital and much-needed project that will enhance the comfort of moving around this central part of the cityple paragraph
says Maciej Olczyk, Group and Country Construction Director at HB Reavis.
Today's opening marks the first stage of the project, aimed at integrating Varso Tower with the city center and improving accessibility throughout central Warsaw. The next phase includes constructing a new connector between the western gallery of the Central Railway Station and Varso Tower. Due to the height difference between the two buildings, this connector will include stairs and an elevator accessible to people with disabilities.
Varso Tower is part of the multifunctional Varso Place complex, developed by HB Reavis in the very heart of Warsaw. The building is conveniently located near stops for numerous bus and tram lines and the WKD Warszawa-Śródmieście station. From the Varso Tower lobby, there is direct access to the Warszawa Centralna station, offering quick connections to Chopin Airport and major cities across Poland.
